There are walks from the chalet door with footpaths leading into the hills behind the chalet, ideal for dog walkers and ramblers or if you prefer easier walking on the flat, there's miles of sandy beach between Aberdovey and Towyn. For bird watchers and wildlife lovers the chalet has many different birds living in the surrounding woodland who will come and feed close by if you put out bird food to attract them and there are rabbits, badgers, squirrels owls woodpeckers and other wildlife around and the Dyfi osprey project where ospreys are breeding on the Cors Dyfi Nature Reserve on the estuary where there is a new award winning viewing observatory. Aberdovey itself has plenty of unspoilt interest to families (a small dog free area of beach), donkey rides in the sand dunes, a seafront playground with it's 'lighthouse slide', crabbing on the jetty, a lifeboat station, icecream shop, information center, various good eating out places (some of which are dog friendly) and other village shops- and then there are the many water sports it has to offer.
Please note: The access road to the chalet is steep and uneven so please take care when driving. The water is supplied from a private source on the Plas Panteidal estate and due to the peat ground is often discoloured. We advise boiling your water before drinking it, or using bottled water. There is no wifi or television and the mobile signal can be patchy.
